u7193 help

I have an older predator and am having trouble finding it with my computer. I have installed the driver for the usb-serial cable and tried all of the com ports. I am told that the version 2.10 is not internet updateable. But I should be able to download the gm03_07predator interface 108exe onto the ds. When I try to do this, the pc does not see the ds. I have also tried serial-serial cable and the unit is not found. Please help me with some info on how to perform this. Also another question. Motor='04 zO6, computer is from a '98camaro. I had the computer programmed for the proper pin assign. in the harness and the motor is running ok. I just want the capabilities of changing settings i.e. idle speed, tire size, etc. When I plug the ds into the pcm, it says vehicle not supported. I want to make sure that the u7193 is the ds that i need before I ship it to Diablo and have it updated. Help please!!!!!!!!

The PC interface will not 'see' the Predator, you have to set up the correct com port so it can talk to it.

I just recently got the serial-to-usb kit and have installed the drivers. I've got the power running to the Pred and connected to the pc. whenever I go to PC Communications I get "Xmodem timeout". need some help here.

can it be sent back in for an update? if so, how much? Does this mean it also does not have logging capabilities and cannont connect to the pc?

Yes, it would be $99 + shipping to send it in to be upgraded to the newer tool which includes logging and internet updates.

just to clarify.... as there seems to be some confusion on this issue according to some PM's I'm receiving...

if you are just trying to import/export tune files, you CAN do that now, on the current revision you are on - no need to upgrade...

But, if you are trying to update it to the latest 9rxx revision so you can save data logs and do internet updates - no, you can NOT do that via the internet downloadable crom revision update files - you have to send it back to diablosport for hardware upgrade, as mike mentioned... Now, AFTER that hardware upgrade has been done, then YES, you will be able to download the crom files from the site and update your predator to a newer revision when it's released.

If this were inthe same thread where I had offered him a free customtune, it would have made sense right away, but I hope you understand that I reply to EVERY post on this forum,. and cant be expected to remember every screen name.

Posting this inthe original thread would have solved the problem.

Either way, nothing has changed, and my offer to do the tune still stands.

Here's what I've got going on with the connection.
I get an XMODEM Timeout when trying to mate up the pc to the pred. I've downloaded "GM03_07Predator_Interface_108" and cannot connect.
Monte, You said something about configuring some ports. I bought the cable from Summit and the one they sold me has the serial port on one end and the usb on the other. From what I've read I should still be able to communicate with the pc with this setup. After we get that accomplished from what I understand, I should be able to email a copy of the tune to MikeL and he can alter it to control the fans, Is this correct?
As far as the updates if I can just get the fans to come on I'll be a happy camper. I've had some success with the pred as far as performance and fuel mileage and would like to keep it as opposed to spending the money on HPT. Where I was confused at is the fact that I thought I would have to get the pred updated for it to even connect to the pc but that does not appear to be the case.
If we can get this thing talking to the pc, then all should be good. I can still use a copilot to do "poor mans logging" to keep an eye on things.

I may have the wrong drivers installed but I believe I used the ones that said windows and usb...
