Extreme RKL- missing after WOT

Post by Harter-built »

I have the 7131 on my '07 5.9 6 sp. recently any time I run WOT I develop a "miss" in the engine and get the check engine light. I plug in the predator and no codes can be found. If I clear codes, It goes away and I can restart and run fine 'til I open it up at WOT. I am worried maybe I cracked an injector or did other damage. Any help would be appreciated. Mods include Pred/Puck(not on) S&B intake. 4" straight piped

You need to cycle the key on and off 3 or 4 times consecutively and verify what code is being thrown, the code will display on the odometer. Then try and figure things out...

Thanks. I'll try it in the morning and see if a code displays.

Update the Predator to the latest revision and you will be able to see what the code is.

Exactly what i was thinking... i know i was... sounds like its time for an air dog or fass fuel system... the reason you probably lose the code is because the rail pressure if brought back up after you let off...

Thanks for the replies, But now it's worse. I un-installed my Pred since this is now happening on all settings and at different throttle positions. I've had it on stock for a few days now and the same thing happened while at cruising speed(65-70 mph). Started a bad "miss", lost all power and engine light came on. cycled the key and code 2146 came up. I used the pred to clear the code and fired it up. code came back along with no power almost immediately. Any more help would be great. Worried about taking it to the dealer since they will probably void my warranty.

So is that a bad injector? I was told it might be the harness. it seems to happen mostly after I've been driving for awhile.

I dont rember what my codes were at the time but I have had both injector harnesses replaced already and I have had 3 injectors replaced, i have had the predator almost 2yrs and and put 80,000mi on the truck and this was my only problems, but sounds like injectors dont like ur predator either...ha

I'm no mechanic but you would think the harness would be easy enough to test first, then start looking at the actual injector, that code looks to me like its describing a wiring problem...
