If this tool has a revision displayed on the top line of the main menu reading version 1.03, and under Options>car tune it reads 'factory tune', this tool can be unlocked for $99+shipping. If both of those two criteria cannot be met the tool cannot be unlocked.
Thanks

I'll look. I guess I should have done some reshearch first before I bought one of these. Now I think I owe my friend 75 bucks for borrowing his
brand new one. His will be locked to my car......Bummer! How come this isn't mentioned anywhere. I thought I read this Tuner would do up to 5 cars or trucks? Thanks for the help.

Not sure how you mean your friends is locked to your car. If the one you borrowed is restored to stock in your car, it should be fine.
All of this information is readily available, and is in the owners manual. Nowhere does any of our literature say these tools will work on more than one vehicle at a time. If you properly restore the backup file to the vehicle the tool is married to it can be used on any other supported vehicle.
Where did you read that it would do 5 cars or trucks?
The U7198 does work on any 99-02 GM gas V8 trucks, 99-02 Camaro/Firebird LS1 and 99-03 Vette LS1/LS6.
Thanks

So If I reinstall the factory tune back in my 2002 Camaro this will unlock my
friends new tuner ? What I read was the tuner could hold upto 5 tunes. I mistook that to mean you could tune upto 5 different cars or trucks. Also It looks like you can unlock my used one. How do I send it back to you?
Thanks again.
P.S Can I fix the speedo with my friends tuner without it getting locked
to my car? Just untill I get mine bacK.

Yes, put your car back to stock and return the Predator to your friend, no problem. You can not use it to alter the tune in your car without marrying it.
I still need to know if the other tool is on the 1.03 revision and has been restored to the vehicle it was used in.
Thanks

My used tuner has the 1.03 revision and car tune showing just like you asked. The factory tune was not reinstalled. I bought this from someone in
Florida I live in Mass. I believe you said you could unlock it for me. How do I send it back? Do you want me to call Diablo Sport?
Thanks Mike.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused.
Please call us with the Predator powered up so we can get this straightened out for you.
Thanks

Both of these criteria are met. However Gary told me that although this
criteria is met I would still have to have the unit sent back to the original
owner, he would have to load the factory tune back in his truck, then I
couild send it back to you to upgrade the unit so I could use it.

You seem to have missed the part about car tune showing 'factory tune'.
This was the second part of the criteria that needed to be met.
Thanks

One last question cause I'm still a little con-fused.....If the guy that owned
my used one had reinstalled the factory tune back in his truck, wouldn't my used unit have been unlocked. I don't understand your offer of 100 bucks to unlock it? But yet you said my friends new unit will be unlocked once I load the factory back in my car ? Will I still have to send his back you ? Sorry for being so stupid.
Thanks Mike.
