Cannot get computer to find Predator U7135

I have the Predator U7135, v.9r18 for a Chrysler 300 SRT-8. PC Interface Cable p/n U7778. Originally while trying to do the DCX "Calibration Update", I could not get my laptop to find the Predator. Computer tells me "installing device driver software"...failed. I'm running Windows Vista 64-bit. Don't ask why I have 64-bit. I did dowload the latest drivers from Diablosport, I tryed evrything in the book to get it to work and was unsucsessfull. Is there a driver for Vista 64-bit? I did see one for XP-64bit. I got it to work using another computer but please help me as I would like to use my laptop for the DataViewer.

I had to let Vista search the internet for the CABLE driver first. You know when it prompts you for the location of the driver or if you want Windows to find it for you. It found it at Windows' support site and loaded it. Had to reboot, then plug in the Predator and open DSdownloader.
Cutting off or disconnecting anything that is using a USB or Serial IRQ has helped others as well on Vista.
If you can't find it message me and I'll dig the driver up and email it to you.

Have you tried the XP 64 bit driver? Many times those drivers work fine. Here is the Prolific website with their drivers. http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31

You could also create a 32 bit virtual machine and use VMWare or Microsoft VirtualPC.

Thanks For the replies. Searched around these forums and ended up here.... http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/cooldriv ... apters.zip This finally worked! I don't know if there is any difference from other Vista drivers, who cares it works now! Hope this helps others with Windows Vista issues.
