U7136 ESP / ABS Error

Post by Niglin »

I recently set the canned tune for 93 Octane on the U7136; in conjunction with this I used the feature to turn off the ESP etc. Following the dash lit up with the ABS light and the ESP light (symboling they were turned off). It was OK for a day.. but then the lights went off and the braking system(s) re-engaged on their own; the feel was pretty obvious too (my daughter may have touched the ESP switch after the fact, but assumedly this shouldn't make a difference). Could someone chime in? thanks.

Yeah the system will re-enable itself after a few key cycles.
You would have to disable it again, it is recommended to only use this at the track or on the dyno as your ABS system gets disabled as well.

Thanks Johan, it's true you really do feel the difference when it's off. I actually have mixed feelings about it, especially since the charger is a rear wheel drive, seemed to have a loose floating feel. It fish tailed in the rain going around corners a bit, you could likely get it to chirp, and maybe leave a bit of a strip; but... Since I live in Calgary, to have it off in the winter, or when there's ice on the roads would mean serious trouble.
