srt8 Tuning
Just got a wideband the other day and started doing some logging. The way i had the tune adjusted was quite rich, ended up around 11.0 AFR. Now, i tuned it to get roughly around 12.2-12.4 AFR. Question is, what kind of timing should I be aiming for? Before with all the fuel i would get about 27-29 degs or so, I had to pull a bit this time so now its roughly around 21-22 degs.

Yeah, what's up with these one line responses that don't really tell you anything. Does DSP really have that little respect for their customers?concoursd wrote:speaking of shotty tech support....LOL

Has nothing to do with respect, and alot to do with time. There's only 8 hours in a work day and Mike has to be here and on probably a dozen other forums helping people. He doesn't have time to type out a whole novel for every question.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: srt8 Tuning
I was being sarcastic, hence the LOL. It was a one line response because that is all that it needed. mike isnt conducting a seminar when he responds to customer questions. Mike's answers will only be as good as the questions asked. How many posts do we see where the customer DOESNT post the pertinent information such as CAL ID, Predator rev, vehicle information etc.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: srt8 Tuning
The problem is that DS sells a tool to apply tunes and make some basic tweaks.
To enable sales they bundle some generic tunes for basically stock cars with the tool.
They're not really in the custom tuning business.
They're basically selling it in K-mart through a lot of vendors who discount it somewhat and don't provide any support at all.
It's kind of like calling up IBM and saying "I bought this computer from Best Buy and I want you to tell me how to make a 3-d excel presentation"
You don't want to piss anybody off but teaching people how their engine works and how to tune and what all the parameters are used for is not in the plan.
One idea is to have a support forum and leverage your customer base for added value support.

In other works, we work for them and don't get paid.

Thank you for the alignment gentlemen. I sometimes don't understand some of the one line answers. DS RULES!!!Mike_Levy wrote:Has nothing to do with respect, and alot to do with time.
