The 07 and a few prior years of Dodge Truck Hemi's have an
Multi-Displacement System (MDS).

Click on that MDS and you'll see a dodge animation of what I'm talking about directly off Dodge's web site.

Basically the system deactivates four cylinders during optimal driving conditions making the V8 into a fuel saving V4 during highway cruising and then when power again is needed, such as for passing or when you step down futher on the gas, the other 4 cylinders kick back into action giving you that desired V8 horse power.
I'm really curious to see how the Predator is going to react/treat that system. Quite a few programmers out there completely deactivate that system.

OMG I'm shocked they would disable such a great factory money saving feature! I'm hoping that Predator will somehow be able to provide a tune that takes advantage of that system as well, without de-activating it.

Do you have any ideas what the plan is for that or will the predator's tuning disable that money saving feature like all the other brands of programmers seem to do?
Also, my truck has 3 options concerning it's overdrive performance settings that are available directly off my shift lever (ya it's an automatic). (I believe this is a standard feature on all 07 Dodge Trucks.)
- Basically, if I push the button once on the end of the shift lever then my over drive is disabled until I press it again.
- If I press it once more then the overdrive is re-enabled but the vehicle is in towing mode which is more suited for towing/hauling giving me more torque for when I need it, I believe in this mode the MDS is also de-activated.
- If I press it the third time I'm back to factory daily default driving with both the over drive and MDS enabled.
This is a standard feature on the 07 Dodge Truck 5.7 Hemi's.

I was wondering if the Predator will affect those, or will it replace those with more optimal settings? Or will it just disable those?
I know it's probably expensive for a company to create programmers for specifics such as this. But I'm hoping that features like these don't go to the waste site in the persuit of just getting a programmer to market. We all love to get the max out of our engine, we all also love to keep some of it's gas and money saving features on a day to day basis.
Oh and one more simple feature to add to the programmer would be disabling the constant annoying pinging if the driver or passenger forgets/elects not to buckle their seat belts. I know it's controlled by the computer as the manual dictates a manual way to disable this.
For those who want to know how to do this manually it's quite simple.
1) Get into vehicle, buckle your seat belt. Ignition must be off.
2) Insert key into ignition and turn to "on" (it is not necessary to actually start the vehicle)
3) Wait for the dashboard seatbelt light to turn off.
4) Immediately unbuckle and rebuckle your seat belt three times
5) With your seat belt still buckled turn off the ignition, you should hear a tone almost immediately - this is a confirmation tone of the feature reprogram.
NOTE: All this must be done within the first 60 seconds of turning the ignition to the "On" posistion
You're done. The light on the dash will always be there, but the tones are now gone. To re-enable simply repeat the instructions again.
I know buckling your seat belt is a good thing and required by law, but there are just times that the annoying tone could justifiably be turned off. For example a heavy package in the passenger seat on some of these vehicles means you'll have to literally buckle it in.

BTW: These seat belt warning tone feature disabling steps is true for most 05 or newer vehicles not just Dodge's.
Jeep, Chevy, Dodge, GM and the newer Fords all support this as well.
Did you also know that you can disable or re-enable the auto down feature of your electric windows switch.
There's instructions in your manual on how to do it. When I get home tonight I'll post those instructions as well.
