Looking at the other releases, I'd venture to say 2 or 3 years at the earliest. They have never supported the V6 F-Bodys, and they don't support any of the other 3.6 DI applications, so normally I'd have said never. They support the V6 Mustang and Challenger though, so theres a slim glimmer of light that they may eventually support the V6 Camaro.

I'm sure you've heard this 10,000 times already, but if you wanted performance you shoulda got the V8.

No way.

We plan to be first to market for the V6 Camaro, as there is a huge market for this application, and after having driven the snot out of one, I kinda want one too...its too much fun for a V6. All the OEMs are clamoring to get software for these cars so they can start releasing blower and turbo kits, so we are behind the 8 ball right now.

Mike, if you ever get a chance, drive a V6 Camaro. It will make you rethink the get a V8 statement. It has me strongly thinking about getting rid of my LS1 Camaro for the V6, as much as I cant believe I just typed that...

I have driven the V6 Camaro, as well as several SS's. Sorry dude, but the 6 just doesn't do it for me. The 3.6 just doesn't have the torquey feeling that a good 6L+ V8 gives you.

Then again though I wasn't all that enamored with the other engine/tranny combos either. The L99/Auto combo is my favorite, but the fact that its emasculated annoys me. The LS2/T56 is no good because I hate driving stick. If they don't kill it the LSA/6A combo in the Z28 has potential, but knowing GM, they'll find some way to screw it up. :x

Yeah, i hear you on the displacement thing, but I was able to smoke the tires for about 100 feet in a straight line with that A6 V6 thing, and then got completely sideways around the end of the building, and decided I better park it before I went to jail (love rentals!!).

I just posted a 14.18@96 in my little V6 with CAI and axle backs.... Not bad for a 6 banger!

Great news! Glad someone's attacking the tune.

Funny how this guy wants you to "man up" to the V8, but insists on the slushbox! To each his own. I prefer the torque of the V8, but ya gotta consider the whole package, like daily driver, cost, etc. when making the old car decision

Yeah, I insist on the automatic. Why in the world would I want an old tech manual? The auto is quicker, more consitent, gets better economy, and is better for traffic. Why do you think GM cancelled the CTS-V manual? Because nobody wants an inferior stickshift.

Try to order one. You can't get a stick anymore. They did a build out as of April 29th.

I have no idea what they're doing with it for 2010. All I've heard is that they added paddles to the A6.

Maybe a mid-year thing? Or maybe they were standard and now they're an option? They're coming up as an additional cost add-on for the 2010 V with the A6, the dealer tells me.

Yeah, a few years back they made the A6 the standard tranny on the Vettes, with the M6 as a no cost option...

Yeah, because GM sees that, like I said, nobody wants an old tech manual. IIRC the split in the US is something like 90/10% auto/manual, and worldwide something like 60/40. And thats expected to increase due to the current crop of DSG, SMT, PDK and all the other computer controlled auto-manuals. The 3 pedal manual gearbox is going the way of the Dinosaurs, and I, for one, have absolutely no problem with that.
