u7195 trouble connecting

i have a u7195 for my 2003 silverado 5.3. i would like to connect it to my laptop so i can get more in depth with my tuning. im haveing trouble getting the dsdownloader to connect. ive installed the drivers for the cable but it still will not connect. can anybody steer me in the right direction?

You can't change any tunes on the laptop, even if you get it to connect. You're very limited with what the tuner can change.

what i meant by that was monitoring the data flow and all of that

you can't log with a laptop and dataviewer with a 7195 predator... that's old hardware and can not save data logs... that's why you can't connect.

you can only view the data live on the predator screen while you drive...

if you want to be able to save data logs, log via the laptop and dataviewer program, download internet updates, get better tunes and more adjustability, send in your old 7195 predator for the upgrade program - and you'll get back a nice, new up-to-date 7193 predator (the 7195's are no longer made, they were replaced by the newer 7193).

ohh okay. if i do the upgrade will i lose the ability to turn off the secondary 02 sensors? ive heard with the new ones you lose some options of tuning? sorry for all the questions, and thanks

yes... the ability to disable the emissions items was removed due to EPA regulations... but it can be done easy enough in a custom tune for ya...

okay.. now one more question for ya. right now i have mostly bolton mods, i do however plan to have more done over time, these being more internal for the most part cam, and some headwork, at this point would it be worth it performance wise and money wise to upgrade to the new unit or should i wait and have it tuned on a dyno?
