Downloading Custom Tune from Predator

Post by af_maineiac »

I apologize if this has already been asked...

I am trying to download a custom tune from another Predator (same type of vehicle, Predator model #, etc.). Should I first click YES to download the original backup to my computer before downloading the custom tune from the Predator? Or if all I want is the custom tune, should I simply click NO to download the Last Tune Written to your vehicle (if any)?

I just want to make sure that by clicking NO, I won't erase the original backup file from the Diablo.

Thanks,
Brian

Yeah, it just takes a copy of the file out...nothing is erased.

Post subject: 99 lightning jlp custom predator problem

hey, i have a u7000 series custom tuned predator from johnny lightning. i put it on my truck and it has ran great for about a year. today i removed the custom tune and reinstalled the stock tune to make a small change. about 5 mins later i then tried to put the custom tune back in truck. well, when i plugged it in, went to select custom tune, it was not there, it was gone and a new set of diablo performance tunes showed up on the screen. well, i called johnny and he told me i could dowmload his custom tune again because i had it previously sent to me as a backup from him. i plugged the programmer in and downloaded the custom tune into the tuner, but, i failed to get the original backup out of the tool first. i had no idea. so i went out and tried to download the custom tune to the truck when the predator said it was saving stock file and then uploaded a tune named "freedom tune" which i have never heard of. it said custom tune did not match original backup. the truck does start but i have no clue what this tune is. i tried to go back to stock and
I keep getting this message "Invalid License (2) The tune in this vehicle does not match the last tune written." it wil not allow me to change to any of the performance tunes either. what in the heck have i done?
also, i did put a copy of the stock backup file on my pc with the copy of the custom tune. how can i get my stock tune back in the truck and start over. it has a force selection for the stock file but i need a code, right? please help. my # is 706-284-7390, thanks, Robby.
