Tire Size Adjustment...One more time

Post by David48 »

Just before I go out and buy a device to recalculate for different tire sizes...is there any chance that this will be built into future revisions for a 2005 Dodge Ram 5.9L. Why is it possible for other models and not this one?

OK...I gave up on a response and got a Superlift TruSpeed Speed Sensor Calibrator to correct my speedometer. This device was easy to install and is very accurate. I used my GPS to get an accurate road speed then made adjustments to the TruSpeed until to make my speedometer match...I'm guessing this is more accurate than the original OEM readings. This unit also has a toggle switch that you can change back to the original tire size if you have winter tires.

Sorry for no reply....must have missed it.

The answer is most likely no, it may get added to Trinity inthe future, but the U7130 does not have the ability to talk to the ABS module as it sits.

i recalibrated the tire size for my 06 and it still read incorrect at first. i had to use my gps and try different tire sizes to get a correct adjustment.

in the end, i had to input a correction for a 32 inch tire in order to read correct speed with my 35's.

just a little info for anyone interested.

The 7130 has the ability to talk to the ABS module enough to make my "ABS" and "BRAKE" light stay on for 10 miles after every tune change.

10 miles. I have been shutting down the truck and restarting several times to get the lights to go out.
thanks next time I'll just drive the 10 miles.
