5.7 ltr with 6 speed manual
How Is the predator going to be adaptable to a 2007 5.7 ltr non MDS heavy duty 2500, with a 6 speed standard. Hope it can work, right now its still a new truck with only 2500kms, so mileage sucks bigtime being its not broken in yet
RE: 5.7 ltr with 6 speed manual
How bad is the mileage in that thing? I got pretty good mileage right off the bat. If it is a single cab I would think at least 16 on the highway.

I think he would suppost to be getting better mileage than an automatic transmission naturally right? I was just curious, as I have the MDS and have only 650miles on the odometer and for the first two tanks on the highway I averaged about 17.8mpg and in town averaged about 15.9mpg.dartboy wrote:How bad is the mileage in that thing? I emagine the 2500 (3/4 ton) with the same 5.7 hemi as in the 1500's, aside from the heavier frame, lief springs, axles, larger tires and most likely longer truck bed and a few other minor things (all in total add about 500 to 600lbs to the weight of the vehicle over the 1500 (1/2 Ton)) would knock down the mileage, horsepower and available torque quite a bit, even with the larger torque converter as it's just too much extra weight. If I had to guess the vehicle stock only averages 14/16mpg max.
However, I did some hunting across the web and found that 10.5 to 14 MPG is what most people are reporting for the 2500 (wow what a gas hog!).
Anyhow, good luck with finding better mileage. I hope the 10 to 14mpg isn't truely a reality as that would truely suck. I know as I used to have a 03 F250 SD 6.8 V10... 8MPG.... In town, towing, on highway... 8MPG The manufacturer officially notes in their specs... Feul Economy "N/A".... it sucked that bad. And the darn 6.8L V10 was only 315hp... and 355ft/lb torque. My smaller 5.7L v8 Hemi has more HP and more torque than that gas hog - stock! After I chiped the V10, added ram air intake, dual gibson 3" exhaust, I still only got about 11MPG, that still sucked... 30 gallon tank with today's gas prices almost 100.00 to fill 'er up. I emagine I gained about 30 to 40 horses with the mods on the V10 and about 40ft/lb torque. But that's just a guess.
I can't wait for the chipset for the 07 5.7L Hemi?????

I am getting about 15-16 on the highway, but thats at 60-65mph, have not done that much driving in town so I have no idea how low it drops, and yes it does have a big tank 34 gals if I remember. and at our prices for gas up here in canada right now around 1.11 per litre yup it gets expensive. and the truck curb weight according to the towing guide is 6056 lbs. but then if I wanted good gas mileage I would have bought something way smaller (lol)
