Gear change?

Post by madskills384 »

I have a Mustang GT 2004 along with the predator tuner and I also have some motive 3.73 gears. I brought these because they were cheap with the intent of replacing the stock gears. I haven't installed the gears yet because it is a bit pricey. So my question to you guys is if I change these gears and use the tuner is it something that I am really going to be able tell the difference I mean a huge gain? I don't want to spend the money to install the gears if its not going to be noticeable. Also I got some estimates but I would like to see how much you guys paid to have the gears installed? THX ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Install the 3.73 gears and do not think twice. They are essential unless you are running a positive displacement blower. Only reason not to install the 3.73 gears are if you are building a car for the track. Whatever gears you run you can always fine tune with proper tire selection as the size of the tires has everything to do with the final equation.
