Hi, ive been looking at buying one of the FLX7193 programmers for my truck. But im not really sure its going to be worth the money for me. How much of a mileage drop will I see? Will there be a noticable hp gain? Can it mess anything up on the truck? Thanks alot

unless you run E85 ALL THE TIME... it's not worth it man...

E85 by itself is a known culprit to having worse mileage...

The FLX7193 is designed to take a non flex-fuel truck and allow it to have full flex-fuel capabilites- meaning you can run gas or E85 at any time without flashing between fueling changes. Generally you will see about a 12-18% drop in mileage when using E85, but you will also see a gain of .5 to 1.5 when running gas on the SAME TUNE. This obviously depends greatly on driving habits- idle time, around town, and towing a trailer it WILL be worse. Analyze your COST PER MILE- if you are saving 30% per gallon when you fill ($2.70 per gallon vs $2.04 per gallon for e85 currently here) and lose 15% economy, it is a no-brainer. You can toggle between fuels any time although if you need to. All the performance enhancements are in the tunes (actually a few more) than the regualr 7193 tool as well. We have found no detrimental effects over time and I have multiple vehicles running these tunes now for 100k miles since the conversion (on these newer vehicles).
