Can a programmer be reprogrammed to a new engine?

I have a U7191 (the other sticker says 128444 if that means something to you) which I used on my 2005 GTO when I had it. I sold the GTO and unloaded the tune prior to getting rid of it.

I now have a 2010 2SS Camaro and would like to know if you can change this programmer to the correct load for my new engine? Is it a cost effective way to 'get a new programmer'? If so, do I take it to a dealer, or send it back to the factory?

Gotta replace it. Two different hardware devices. Sell the old one, buy a new one.
