pinging problem on '98 Cobra

I recently purchased a U7146 unit for my '98 Cobra. With the predator tune installed i get pinging at WOT. I have tried retarding the timing and still the problem persists. The car has only minor bolt on mods and i get no pinging with the stock tune. I use 91 octane fuel. Any suggestions?

You can always go into the adjustable parameters and remove some timing. I would try a different brand of fuel as well. I personally prefer mobil, sunoco or amoco/bp.

I already tried removing some timing and still had the pinging problem. I also tried octane booster with no better results. Any other ideas?

I would try to remove more timing, what brand fuel do you have in there?

Check your coil packs, spark plugs and all other ignition related components as well.
Thanks

I use Arco 91 octane with octane booster. I have tried taking out timing all the way to 40%. The pinging is less noticable as i remove timing but still there at wot. Has brand new plugs and wires. How do i check the coil paks? Very strange that with the stock tune I have no issues. I also have 3.73 gears, magnaflow mufflers and K&N CAI if that has any bearing on the situation. Thank you for your prompt responses.
