I just put a Magnaflow competition series catback and a K&N CAI on my 2010 Challenger RT a week or so ago. Filled up with 93oct. fuel and installed the Predator (7135) Performance 91 octane CAI tune. Wow, this really woke up the speed monster lurking, but never showing itself within the confines of the engine block!. No fooling this car totally torqued up and pulls much harder, gets up to (and way past) speed quicker and more effortlessly and the engine note is now growlier and deeper. Overall the transformation from just the tune was twice the improvement seen when I upgraded the exhaust and air intake alone. Maybe three times the improvement. Now I installed the 91oct CAI version of the performance tune because I've heard that sometimes guys install the 93oct version but then the gas they run isn't the best example of 93oct out there and they get a bit of knock and loss of potential performance increases. My question is, is it safe for the engine, as far as efficiently burning the fuel if I'm tuned to burn 91oct but fill up with 93-94oct fuel? Should I go ahead and load up the 93oct CAI perf. tune and see if I like it better before I decide not to use it? Thanks.

Heck, I still got time before I go to work tonight. I'll go do that soon then thanks Mikel! And it's an automatic. SPeaking of which I just went back and modified the 91oct CAI tune (already modding things!!!) to delete the MDS and for the first time with this car I can appreciate how smooth it actually is. That MDS program is a menace.mikel wrote:Id try the 93 tune for sure!

Ok, the 93oct CAI tune, in my car at least with the mods I've done to it, really works nicely. It's a great match for my ride and for the 93oct Shell and BP Amoco gas I have a mix of in the tank right now. The exhaust note got lower and a tad rumblier still over the 91oct tune and the shifts and everything else about the cars performance is just that much smoother and more muscular at the same time. The car definitely accelerates harder and more aggressively as well. It really plants you in the backrest of the seat (slams you back is more like it!). I can live with this, this works for me.
Thanks again Mikel and all at Diablosport for the great product.

"MDS program is a menace."
Copy that!
Then again, having some sort of cylinder deactivation program is the only way we can continue to get big American V8's now. I've noticed it works better in some cars than others - and even in some Hemi's than others. MDS is much more agressive today than it was back in 2005-2006 when I had a 300C in which it was undetectable.

Adding Corsa Extreme catback to 2006 Charger R/T
I can relate to the elation of your initial tune!! I put a 91 Octane cai on my 2006 Charger and it produced awesome results, similar to yours...going to add the cat-back and try 93 octane gas...question: did you try the 93 octane with the 91 octane tune at all before loading the 93 octane tune? Best of fortune with your Challenger...by the way, as per MDS, mine works really, no interference when using the stick...still great gas mileage when keeping it in D and driving like I'm comatose...
