U7193 / 2004 Avalanche 5.3 Problems

Post by JB666GL »

I've been searching this topic for weeks now, and have tried just about everything... And am beginning to get a bit concerned.

Here's a quick history. 9 Months ago a friend was selling his tuner after trading his truck in. We installed it into my (at the time) stock Avalanche with no problems, and I put the '93 Octane' tune in.

Fast forward a few months to now. I've since lifted the truck, put mega strobes in, a Fosgate system inside with 2000+ watts hitting it. Remote start. Train horns. Front & Rear backup cameras and a few other goodies.

Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I wanted to put my stock tune back in so that I could make a trip to the dealership. I plugged in, as I always have, and got this:

I tried multiple things... (after reading similar issues).... My battery pack (for extra voltage), my battery chargers, killing the power to the amps & head unit. Shutting the heat/ac, DRL's and anything else off.. But nothing. No matter what I do, I get the same message. I have not physically pulled any fuses (amps/head unit has trippable power blocks under the hood).

I'm at wits end.. Can any of you guys offer any assistance?? I bought the power supply for my U7193 the other day to update the unit, but that won't work because I have the factory tune inside.. .

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!!

Its 99% going to have something to do with some wiring that was changed onthe vehicle, likely during the stereo install....

Terrific.. To date I've done all but uninstall everything.. All power has been cut/disconnected to all installed devices EXCEPT my remote start.. Are these known to interfere?

yes, absolutely... they're one of the biggest offenders...

ANYTHING and EVERYTHING aftermarket has to be disabled/removed/fuse-pulled...
