So I bought this used and when I went to "show last tune" it says "original backup" but then when I click on "continue" it loads up and then takes me to a screen that says
"Unit 1: 8U7A-14C204-AG
Unit 2: 8C3A-14C337-CCA
VIN: 1FTSW21R28EE37707"
It had 9r07 on it and then I tried to update it to 9r12a. When trying to update it wouldn't let me and just came up with a message saying "there is an original backup in the programmer, tune your truck back before updating" or something like that. So after restarting the program and the tuner and still getting that message, I turned off autoconnect and updated it that way. It took the update but I'm still getting that weird screen. What is the deal with that and will this programmer function correctly when connected to a truck?
U7164 has "unit 1" and Unit 2" codes as well

this means it is married to the truck with that VIN, andneeds to be unlocked by restoring the stock tune to that truck or for $129 on our website.

So why does it show "original backup" on the screen as the last tune that was written?

It says that someone let it read the stock tunes out of tthat truck without installing a performance tune, thus marrying it.
