Diagnostic readings question

Post by tracktoys »

So far I've been pretty happy with the Predator investment for my truck. I do have one question though, how accurate is the data that is being transmitted during the live watch mode? In particular, I noticed that at idle in park the truck was reporting roughly 15lbs of boost. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but shouldn't the truck be showing vacuum at idle, not boost?

At the moment I don't have any gauges to refute what I'm seeing from the Predator. I was just flipping through the menus and playing around while waiting for my truck to warm up and noticed the boost issue.

15 psi + atmospheric pressure ;)

Anything over that is boost to the PCM

There is a synthesized PID called Boost that starts at 0.

The Predator is only showing what the PCM provides. So any readings that you see, the Predator isn't "making", its only relaying it from the PCM. Any programmer or scan tool will show the same thing
