2010 Camaro - Launch Control Not Functioning

I have a Predator U7194 9r15 that I have used to program my 2010 Camaro SS LS3 6Spd. After installing the performance tune, the launch control doesn't work. In case you are not familiar with this feature, it allows you to (when activated) push in the clutch, floor the gas, and let the computer control the RPM's. When you dump the clutch the computer ensures the best possible launch with the least amount of wheel spin. I had used my launch control several times before purchasing my diablo programmer and it worked perfectly. The computer would hold my RPM's around 5k until I dumped the clutch. After applying the performance tune, the computer no longer limits my RPM's when launch control is activated. I understand that, most likely, the performance tune was intended to disable that feature, similar to how it disabled the forced gear shift from 1 to 4 at slow speeds. However, when I reverted the computer back to the factory tune, the launch control still doesn't limit my RPM's when activated. So, its pretty much not working all together at this point.

1. Is this supposed to happen?

2. Will the latest revision fix this issue?

2. If I wanted my performance tune to not disable the launch control, is that something that could be accomplished with a custom tune?

3. How can I get the feature to re-activate on my stock tune?

I came across this issue with a custom tune I did for a 2010 Gran Sport Vette....

in the custom tune, I disabled his traction control... then he lost his launch control.... I wrote him a new tune and turned the traction control back on in the tune, and then he was fine, launch control worked....

but, that is not something that is normally disabled in the diablo tunes, so that shouldn't be your issue....

reinstall the diablo tune to your car.. and then post up copies of your original backup tune file and your "last tune written" tune file please...

Just to chime in, I too have a 2010 Camaro SS LS3 6 spd Manual, and I am running version 9r18 91 octane tune and have no issues with launch control. Everything is working normal. Maybe something went wrong with the install? just a guess.

nope, that aint it.. I looked through your whole tune file... the traction control settings are fine...

other then seeing that it could really use a good custom tune, the stuff that was changed looked ok... there's a lot of room for improvement in there tho, that's for sure...

try restoring original backup to your car, then update your predator to the newest/latest 9r18 revision.. and then install that new Diablo Tune to your car and see if that fixes the issue...

nope, still no launch control... i upgraded the programmer to the latest 9r19 and flashed the car with the diablo tune.

ok... now, post up the NEW versions of your tune files from that new revision...

use the dsdownloader and get the original backup and last tune written again, and post those up here please...

I'm gonna try something and see if my hunch is correct...

here ya go man.. try this one and see if it works...


Importing a custom tune into the Predator/Trinity:

1. Connect the Predator/Trinity to your PC and power it up... Then open up the DSDownloader.

2. Let the DSDownloader auto connect to the tool.

3. On the DSDownloader - go to the Express Tune tab and click "Send Tune File to Tool".

4. You will get a new window asking you to select the custom tune file for importing.

5. So, Browse through your PC to find where you saved the new custom tune file, and click it once to highlight it, then click "open".

6. You will then get a new window asking you to select your original backup stock tune file - so select Browse for original backup... then, browse your folders or desktop to look for the copy of your "original backup" stock tune file you saved to your PC before, and click it once to highlight it - then click "open".


7. The DSDownloader will automatically compare these files to determine if they are the same size and of the same calibration.

8. Once it determines the files are OK, it will import the custom tune file to the Predator/Trinity. This will all happen very fast, usually in under 10 seconds.

9. The DSDownloader will tell you that the import/download was successful, and the Predator/Trinity screen will show/flash "import OK". (this occurs quickly on the Predator/Trinity screen, so you may not see the message.)

10. You may now unhook the Predator/Trinity and go to the vehicle to install the custom tune.

YOU ARE THE MAN!! I GOT LAUNCH CONTROL AGAIN!

I really appreciate you fixing that for me... That feature was just way too cool to not work. Some people made comments on the web that they could launch better without the launch control... I would argue that maybe they could do better 1 time out of 10, but they are not going to put up consistent times.

I'm having custom exhaust installed at the end of this month. After that, my bolt-on purchasing is complete and i'll be looking for a custom tune. Who do you recommend? If you do custom tunes, you already have my business for fixing my launch control!
