I want to increase the timing on the stock tune but I don't want to get to the advanced degree that the 87 Octane canned tune is at since I get high rpm pinging. What is a safe value to increase the stock timing to get some more performance without getting to the level of the 87 tune?
I have been driving with a .5 degree increase in 2k-4k and 4k-7k with no ill effects. How far advanced is the 87 Octane tune over stock?
Thank you.

install the 87 tune and subtract timing in 4k-7k untill the pinging stops

I want to do the same for 93 octane.I was wondering where would be a good percentage to set the spark advance at on the stock tune.

I think Mike posted in another topic a little bit lower about the samething.
"OK, well, maybe 2-3* generally."

Can check the post to make sure tho.
EVOLVEDNOTTAMED posted there as well so, can wait on Mike to give a % if you want or can try and figure it out.
Not sure myself on a good safe number.

he was refering to 2-3 degrees not percentage increase. The predator modifys spark advance by percentage from 2k-4k and 4k-7k.

I was thinking 6% increase from 2k-4k and 4k-7k would probly work out good.

timing is 20* at WOT, so to get 2* you need to add 10%, in your case lower timing at 4k-7k by 10% to remove 2*
I would suggesting running the 87 tune, and use 91 octane to see if the pinging goes away. It really should ping with the 87 tune, because Diablosport canned tunes aren't very aggressive, which is good for the majority of people.

I was wondering where you got your info on the 20* timing at WOT.

Did you ever find out how far the timing was advanced on the 87 octane tune?

So if I modify the spark on the stock tune does it advance it at WOT only?So could I max it out to 10 percent?

it does two ranges , 2k-4k, 4k,7k? you can adjust both ranges, but I think it's at WOT only, since cruise is already maxed at 45*
10% should equal 2* timing.
