Cat C7 problems, need help with install

Post by bsinacann »

Just installed my new extreme powerpuck on my 2005 f650 c7 cat. The instructions were very confusing, but I found both sensors and plugged the harness in accordingly. When I crank the engine, it runs very rough, sputters and dies. I have tried everything I can think of and no luck. I also tried unplugging the dial, and it makes no difference. Please help

some times on the cat motors there is actually a long extention cable for which the puck should be conencted to. also the set of connectors closest to the puck are the map sensor and the further set of clips is the boost. or icp sensor.

I found the connector for the icp sensor, but I cannot find a connector for the boost sensor except for the one that actually plugs into the sensor itself. When I plug it directly to the boost sensor, it makes the engine sputter when I start it up. I don't know anything else to do. Am i missing something here?

does the plugs allow you to plug them in , in either direction or they only plug in to each other 1 direction. because some times that can happen.

I'm not sure what you mean. I have tried plugging them up different ways. For the Icp sensor, I am unplugging a set of connectors inline of the wires, about a foot or so from the sensor. On the boost sensor, I am unplugging the connector that plugs directly into the sensor. I'm not sure if that is right, but I cannot find a connector junction anywhere in the wiring leading away from the boost sensor.
