2006 Mustang gt C&L tune

Post by jetmec »

I installed the Diablosport C&L tune into my car about 2 months ago aand it runs great. lately, though, it seemed like the engine lost its "edge". I reinstalled the 91 oct tune and it really flies now! My question is can a tune go "soft" over a period of time due to the computer recognizing "normal" driving habits as opposed to "spirited' driving, or is this just an old wives tale? thanks

No, the tune itself cannot change, but there are adaptives in the PCM, and sometimes if you drive the car really softly for a while, it may feel sluggish until it is driven hard for a while.

Hey jetmec,
I can confirm Mike's response. When I originally installed 91 C&L tune in my 05 Mustang, it ran great and then I didn't really notice the decline (adaptive) back to more sedate mode (daily commute). I recently upgraded my tuner with latest software and then made some changes to the loaded tune and reloaded and voila! Ran like a scalded cat again. I take the car to the track about once a quarter and will now reload tune before running to get best performance!
