Yes you can reboot it! Are you sure the ignition is ON not just in accessory mode.

No aftermarket devices. Stereo,trailer brakes etc.

If the unit is bad, are they going to replace it for you, or try the "over the phone fix"? It should only take like 30 seconds to ID your vehicle once the key is turned to the ON position.
