make changes to tune?

Post by Jerry226 »

U7193 I just put 456 gears in my 04 SSR and went to change tune and it only had 455 that I can change to.I don't think they make 455 gears for a ssr. Will there be a update for the u7193 to make proper gear changes in the future? Thanks

probably not...

you'll need to get a custom tune done to have it changed....

4.55 to 4.56 is so close that its not gonna make a difference. Just pick 4.55. It'll be fine. That seems like an awful lot of gear for an automatic 5.3 though. And thats coming from a nut who likes to over gear EVERYTHING.

The ssr weights 4700 lb empty and it is a 300 hp slug. The 456 gears gives a much better take off and the transmission is about the same n low end. I get 3 more mpg in town and the same on the road because of overdrive. :)

Hummmm..... maybe I should gear up the Denali. Its only got 3.42s, so maybe 4.88s or 5.13s would be good. :P Nah, seriously, I'd be looking 3.73 or more likely 4.10s or 4.30s.

Regi says 5608lbs, 403hp (more like 425). Maybe I can get that sluggish 6.3 second 0-60 down into the 5's.

Does it use the same axles as the SSR? 8.625" in back, I believe? No idea what it has in front.

Remember. Under your Yukon is a Sierra frame. 4.10s are available. And, what was that about gas mileage? (sorry, couldn't resist a small shot. :D )

Once everything is back to normal and I can get gas without waiting hours, gas mileage be damned. Its just the residual effects of Sandy that are making me care about economy right now.
