inTune screen dead

Post by fridgeguy »

I had my Predator stolen so bought an inTune. Was told you could force a factory tune in. Did my updates today which went fine. Plug it into my car-2006 Magnum RT-and nothing comes up on the screen. Doesn't power up. Spent 15 min on hold on your tech line and gave up. Its an expensive call from Canada and $400.00 for the tuner has me a little frustrated but still patient. So what gives with the inTune. I would expect the screen to turn on. My code reader works fine to the its not the car.
Thanks for your help

Can you even force a factory tune if there is no actual factory tune on your new inTune? I don't think that is possible since the tunes it comes with are not factory, could be wrong though.

Mine had white lines on the display basically lightening the whole screen. Took a pic of it just in case with my laptop screen behind it for reference. Unplugged it, replugged it and it was fine again. Hope it's a one time thing.

I'm told they can do it. I'm also wondering if a dealer can just reflash the ecm to stock...

Once your get your car back to a factory tune I still think your vin# might be locked to your stolen predator but Diablo should get you past that fairly easy.

We can do it, or the dealer can do it.

If the tool will not power up at all with the OBDII cable, lets see if the retailer can swap it out for you, if not, let me know.

we can force any tool that does cal updates to write a copy of the same calid thats in there to set the vehicle back to stock, no need for anything to come here :)

I got a new one coming. My supplier looked after it for me. I'm going to get the dealer to reflash. Easier and quicker.
Thanks for your help

I just got the intune and updated the software on my PC. when i plugged the intune in my obd2 it did not power on. i called tech support and they asked if I had a fuse blown. I took my vehicle to an auto parts store. they plugged in their device and it powered up. i even plugged the intune into another vehicle and nothing happened. Some assistance would be greatly appreciated. I have a 2007 chevy tahoe ltz if that makes a difference

Got the factory tune back in, new In Tune works good. Uploaded the 91 CAI tune plus a bunch of other stuff. All works good.
Question--in dyno mode the car tends to act weird, trans is slow to engage, after a monster burnout and acceleration run in manual mode with the engine hitting the rev limiter in 1st the trans kinda neutraled out when I came to a stop and was stuck in 2nd gear, eventually went into drive but was stuck in what seemed like 3rd gear. I shut the engine off and restarted and it seemed ok, took it out of dyno mode and works fine. Is this normal? Oh...and you need to work on the tech support line. I was on hold for 15 mins one day and at least 10 on another day. I gave up as it's long distance and never did talk to anyone. What is your acceptable wait time. If you don't have one you need one, even a voice mail where one can leave a message and get a call back. I'm very happy with the product and support on this forum...and I'm really happy with the performance of my car (2006 Magnum RT).

dyno mode will act weird on the street :)
When you hit the rev limiter, you limped the trans, not a good idea, and you see what the car did in response ;)
If you like doing burnouts in manual mode, bump the rev limiter a bit to try to avoid limping it...

We have been short staffed this week on the tech line, one of our guys caught pneumonia...not fun. He is back as of today, and wait times should be back to a max of 5-8 min to get through.

I would always urge anyone to use this forum, heck theres a chance someone besides us will be able to help before we even see it! Also, [email protected] is a great way to get a quick reply during business hours, or first thing in the AM if you send it in the evening.

I'm super happy that your tool is working, and even happier that you are getting to experience the amazing thing that is a tuned HEMI.

Enjoy!
