Diablosport Dissapointing Performance and Service
Now I usually dont take complaints about a company to an open forums, however, I have tried everything to get this worked out.
Now the problem is that my predator just isn't making much power at all. My truck, on performance, is pretty much same as stock just with lots of smoke. I've tried all three settings and pretty much the same, not much power. I've tried setting back to stock then retune, same problem.
I have searched diesel truck resource forums and diablo sport forums to try and find a solution and no luck. I called customer service today and talked to some girl there and she just told me there is nothing she can do and that I should have lots of power.
Well all in all pretty frustrated, just want to figure out what is going wrong and not feel like the company i just dished out $400 dollars too doesnt care.
I am not the only one that feels this company ignores their customers, read here for more details:

RE: Diablosport Dissapointing Performance and Service
I'm sorry you feel like you are not being helped, but its tough to diagnose a situation on a truck that we cannot see.
I know for sure that most users of this tool report the largest power gains of any tuner on the market.
I have driven a few of the Cummins with the 100hp tune in it, and there is no mistaking the extra power is there.
I would think a few forum members here can attest to that.
I just read through that thread, and for the most part it looks like a bunch of people telling you that you should absolutely feel the power, even in the tow tune, so, maybe there is indeed an issue with the truck?
Are you positive that the filters are clean, and that the injectors are in good shape?
Could the tranny be slipping?
Couple things to check out...
Thanks

To second that the gentleman who started this thread spoke to me. I was in TX not Johan. I simply replied to the customer that if he had any questions about the tunes with his dodge cummins he needed to talk to Johan or email Johan. He replied saying he has emailed him and spoken to him on this subject. I do not do Dodge tuning here. I do Ford Tuning here. I dont exactly see why one would talk crap about a company/employee in which he has been speaking to that person directly to in email. That really wont get him anywhere when anything BETA or custom tunes are available. This just shows you what kind of customer he is.

Well so far I haven't been helped, but this is a good start. I don't doubt that your programmer makes good power, I heard it does and thats why I bought it. I just know that the power it's making for me is not right.mikel wrote:I'm sorry you feel like you are not being helped, but its tough to diagnose a situation on a truck that we cannot see.

The fuel filter was changed with the last oil change, and I just installed a new AFE stage 2 filter last oil change as well. The clutch is definately not slipping either. So I know those should be ok. I'm fairly certain that the truck is sound, it was at the dealership about a month ago and had a full inspection done. Of coarse they could have missed something.
What are the chances that the programmer is faulty? Anything I could check on there? Any ways to troubleshoot this through the live data option on the programmer? Certain tests I could do on the truck? Its also throwing a permanent code: "SKIM secret key not stored in PCM"

I am not sure what you are referring to, and I was never told to talk to Johan or email Johan. I did pull Johans email from this forum, and sent him an email, to which there was no reply. I believe you are putting words in my mouth. I was told that there is nothing that can be done. period. To second that the gentleman who started this thread spoke to me. I was in TX not Johan. There is a big difference between talking crap about a company, and trying to get some customer service. As per that thread link I provided, there are many customers who feel unsatisfied when it comes to your customer service. But who knows perhaps your customers are wrong and you are right?
And if your threatening me with no access to BETA or custom tunes, perhaps you should take a second look at how you are representing this company.
Anyhow, I'm not going to get into some kinda pissing match, I just want this problem solved. Thanks

Spooling i do apologize your not the person i spoke to in TX. The gentleman who did made the post about the DHRA race and him running the Smarty. Johan is the man who will address this. He use to have a 03 SO Cummins I know for a fact that he would never forget about any of his customers. Non of you guys have been forgotten. Its just that we have deadlines and projects. Some take longer than others thats the way software works. If you have had legitimate issues with the product and you have talked to tech support it will be documented and this info (more info the better) will help us reproduce and address the issues.spooling wrote:I am not sure what you are referring to, and I was never told to talk to Johan or email Johan. The part I can't understand is that you are getting the black smoke but no extra power. The smoke means you are getting the fuel but aren't burning it. Have you tried the Extreme RKL tune? Are you trying the stack tunes or non-stack tunes? The non-stack tunes are much better. My truck would easily slip the stock clutch on the performance setting.....
Do you have a fuel pressure guage? It is possible that your LP is one of the weak ones and it is not providing enough fuel for the power you want...

I think a lot of us are just disappointed because a couple months ago we could come in here and talk directly to Johan and he jumped right on our questions/concerns. Nowadays most of those questions/concerns go unanswered..

i think that this thread may be a classic case of "expecting to much"with my second gen i bought a set of 90hp stix and i was expecting a nice gain throughout,i was disapointed and complained to the company and on the dtr, they sennt me another set and same thing,a freind with a stock 2002 auto drove mine and couldnt beleive the power, maybe try another diablo if you can, other than that if your making 37psi and making smoke i would say its working your just expecting to much.i dont think anyone has ever complained about the power these thingsmake, the costomer service i do admit has slid downhill but im sure it will come back.with all the choices out there and all the diesel trucks diablo would be silly not to make there curent and new customers happy.

I've seen a lot of that too Dave. People get on the forums and talk about how easily they can tow their 10,000lb trailers. Other guys see this and run out and buy a $40,000 truck thinking they will run a 12 second 1/4 mile while towing. They are very disappointed when they find that a 10,000lb trailer is still heavy even if the truck is powerful....
