early 05 question update r17

Post by rage300c »

ok guys have a 2005 300c srt8 and software on the screen of my car has it listed uppdate of 2004 so i assume this is a early 05.

i upgraded to the r17 was just wondering what the difference between that and the last tune?? that need a fix?

cause i loaded the oringal tune of r14 and only thing i did not like was i was getting 13.50dg of knock retard on it and on the r16 it went down to about 8dg retard.. using the data viewer on my laptop..

r17 added support for export calibrations and more early 05 calibrations previously not supported. it also added data viewing and logging on the Predator itself. as for the tunes, nothing really was changed.

Sweet jesus, 13.50 degrees of knock!? That is about the highest I've read about on the net. I'd be real careful... There's only so much your factory knock sensors can do. One bad tank of gas and you can really do some serious engine damage.

Can you give us some more background info on your car? Mileage, mods, what octane grade you're running, which canned tune you're using, etc, etc.

yeah that was with the r14 tune when i first got it. have tried to check with the diablo now using the real time but think there is something wrong with it because it reads 124.00 to 126.00 under full throttle so i just put the 91cai tune using 93 octane for now until i can use the laptop to data log..

05 with 21000 miles afe stg2 180 t-stat and diablo exxon 93 octane with 10%ethanol using 91cai tune now..
