2011+ Trinity 3.6 Charger/300/Challenger
I know this may have been asked, with the recent addition to 2011+ hemi tuning what is the plan for the 3.6? With a 60/40 buyrate on 3.6/hemi there is still 60% of the market out there. You are only selling to 40% now. I know we are all drooling on the charger forumz, waiting, cash in hand.......drooling more, cash still in hand.....

Re: 2011+ Trinity 3.6 Charger/300/Challenger
to be fair, the 40% are much more likely to modify their vehicles, this is not our first rodeo
We have every intention of supporting just about anything with a 3.6 Pentastar under the hood, just in due time....heck, we supported the 05-10 3.5s, and there was little to anything 'performance' about them

I agree with mikel that very few had modified 3.6 in the past. However, with 3.6 Pentastar Chyrsler made a huge leap toward the performance. So I believe there are more of us willing to get more out of this engine. My vote for 3.6 and looking forward to have it Diablo-tuned
By the way, I have Town and Country as had to switch from Infiniti FX to Chrysler (needed more hauling space), so I want more performance from the vehicle. Sounds odd for van owner, but it is the fact

Thank you for responding. Yes your right the 40% will spend a lot more on their cars, and yes you did support the 3.5l. But this engine is different. It actually gives the customer an actual option to the hemi instead of just settling for a v-6. It is the best v-6 I have driven- way better than camaro 3.6. I have seen that you have a poll on facebook...so hopefully I can have one soon.mikel wrote:to be fair, the 40% are much more likely to modify their vehicles, this is not our first rodeo

The best V6 is, by far, the Nissan VQ38DETT. Isn't even in the same galaxy as our domestic 6's. If you haven't driven a GT-R with it, you don't know what you're missing. They don't support that either.

apples and oranges. 100k car versus 25k car ( i paid 15k! ) Not in the same galaxy or price range.Mike_Levy wrote:The best V6 is, by far, the Nissan VQ38DETT. This is comparing apples to oranges, if Im correct the GTr is turboed.. in that case add a turbo to it then look at how it would perform.
Re: 2011+ Trinity 3.6 Charger/300/Challenger
No offense MikeL, but if you were to poll charger/ challenger owners with the v6 trim I'm almost willing to bet that 99% of the saturated market would respond modded and not stock. Everyone has a performance intake and exhaust at the very least. I know this is not your first rodeo, I'm just tired of the excuses that don't hold any water. Please issue a poll or two because lately some of Diablosport's opinions have been way off base. For instance, the 3.6l LX/LC/LD market has been primed for a programmer for a year or more and yet Diablosport decides to support a vehicle that doesn't express the same demand first nor have they even had the 3.6l as long as the chargers/ challengers/ 300s... That's bull and you know it. I like your products and I've been sitting on the cash to make a purchase for 6 months, just waiting on DiabloSport like hundreds are doing... Listening to you guys sh'tting on our cars the whole time. My charger already does NOT move like a 4000lbs car with a V6 even before the ported/polished throttle body, custom DiY 4" fender draw cold air intake in a closed induction configuration, or the Magnaflow dual exhaust with x-pipe, the Big Bully catch can, or the Pulstar Iridium GG1i pulse plugs. I'm looking for balanced lightweight aluminum pulleys. Just waiting on custom tuning so that forced induction can become available. Already I've spent over $1000.00 on bolt-ons when Diablosport could have had my money from day one. I am just one of a hundred or more waiting for this to finally happen.
Re: 2011+ Trinity 3.6 Charger/300/Challenger
I know that you folks are working on the tune for the 3.6 ( I don't mind waiting since I plan on keeping mine for many years to come) but I was just wondering if you are planning on making the tune for both the 5 and 8 speed transmissions or just the 8 speed. Also I was just wondering if the tune would have all the features the other models currently enjoy ( change your tire size etc).
I only heard about this when I joined the LX forum last year so still learning how all this works.

There is a lot to this.
As you said, there are 1000s more LX/LC's with the 3.6 than Wranglers, so it would have taken us way longer to get tune development done on that platform. Developing tunes for the small handful of 12 Wrangler calibrations that are available was much simpler, required less work on the CMR end, less engineering effort, and lead to a quick release that sold 1000's of tools.
I can promise you that our registration data says that Jeep guys buy tuners way more than V6 sedan owners, this is a fact
Again, I implore you to keep in mind that we have supported the non performance oriented, lackluster performing 3.5 LX/LC models from 05-10 for years now, and it only makes sense for us to do the same with the much more performance oriented 3.6, and we will, it just has to happen the way we decide it needs to happen
Stay tuned....

Re: 2011+ Trinity 3.6 Charger/300/Challenger
I can dig and respect your answer and I have lots of Jeep buddies that are all about squeezing more offroad performance from their rock crawlers, I just think that things have changed in the v6 sedan department vs how it was two years ago. I know you guys have seen the demand, probably skimmed countless v6 programmer threads of the many online forums available....so you know we are here, there are a lot of us. For every one that speaks out, there are ten more waiting for the answer. One of the best signs that demand exists are all the threads titled what is a programmer and where can I buy one for my (insert Dodge/Chrysler vehicle here). Thanks for taking the time to engage me on this topic MikeL, as you've probably gathered I am one of the abundant number of passionate inquiries wondering why DiabloSport hasn't given me a reason to invest my money in their hard work.

Re: 2011+ Trinity 3.6 Charger/300/Challenger
It's going to be so awesome when these vehicles are tuned. I'm eager to put another decal in the rear window.
Re: 2011+ Trinity 3.6 Charger/300/Challenger
It is now April. I strongly suggest that DS post a detailed update on the status of product release for 2011 and up Challenger/Charger with 3.6 Pentastar and five speed.
Some of us have been trying to defend DS, but persistent lack of info will send your potential customers to Arrington Performance (in Virginia). Arrington recently merged with B&G Chrysler in Michigan and Arrington was recently announced as the official MOPAR vendor for performance PCMs for all models. These PCMs are purchased online and shipped to customer. Downside = no periodic reflashing like hand held DS product. Upside = highest possible performance from official factory engineered tune.
Do us a favor, post the update without taking gratuitous shots at previous generation 3.5L owners. That was unnecessary.
Thanks.
