Hi

I just searched the postings but came up short on this one.

Is there any way to tell what version of hardware you have for the U7158 Lightning/HD Predator??

I noticed somewhere that if the unit has a black back ... it may be one of the newer versions ... but could not find which one. I believe there are 4 different versions??

I am looking at purchasing a used U7158 that has had the stock tune put back on the original vehicle (so I am good there) ... but I am concerned that if I get one too old ... it may be be compatable with all the current / future updates!! Is this a valid concern?? or can ALL of thew U1758 units accept the new updates??

Thanks
Dean

With the tool powered up look at the top line of the main menu to see what revision it is currently on.

Thanks

Dean, to use the new revision you need the latest hardware. Most black backs have it but you must confirm by removing the cover and looking on the bottom of the board. You want hardware with Rev3 or Rev4.

Not sure what you mean by "safe side"

The older revs will be updatable too, just takes time...

What does takes time mean? I bought my predator brand new in 05 and now I cant even install the new update because its too old. That jsut makes me want to to buy a new tuner from a different company.
