Why I did not get better performance from Trinity

Post by x4x »

Hi ..

Mikel

I did a comparison of the acceleration from 0 - 60 and 0 - 100 , and quarter mile before & after tuning
But the results were very close in some cases be the same.
While others found better acceleration with the device.

I have also found (ST knock = 4) at 1500 - 2200 but no (LT = 0) this with 93 oct
I download 91 but the results were worse , also found (ST knock = 4)
Please help me to find the problem and get the best acceleration.

does the vehicle not 'feel' better?

does it have a traction issue now that the tunes are installed?

I feel that the vehicle has become better . The only response

But the numbers say not .

He means, do you have more wheel spin now. Are you finding it harder to get traction from the rear tires, especially from a standing stop...

I think there is no difference
Because I am in both ( befor - after ) tried to avoid wheel spin
I did not even hear the sound of tires. In each test .
Unfortunately results very close. Supposed to get better results. At least in the quarter-mile tests

I am definitely getting more wheelspin with the Perf 93 tune loaded. That just means the tune is doing what it's supposed to.

The problem, from my perspective is the tires and the road surface. Everyone posting before and after 0-60 or 1/4 mile times will have different results based on all of the conditions and variables that apply to their car and to where they are located. For example: Let's say I was logging a 0-60 mph time of 6.0 seconds prior to my performance tune, but now I am logging a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds. On the after the tune run, I felt as if the car had much more wheelspin on my typical launch. This would most likely be caused by the added torque and horsepower provided by the tune. The tires are not able to grab the road and therefore you lose time trying to get traction. This kills your 0-60 time. So in this situation I would say "Yes!!!! It is much faster, but I need to figure out how to get more traction with this added power!!" Not a bad situation to be in, in my opinion. You should also be able to feel that the car seems faster at other speeds, such as, 35mph to 75 mph, or 60mph to 80mph, etc. I definitely have better performance from my Trinity, at any speed.

Hope this helps, as it applies to your situation. If not, I will bug out and let Diablosport reply.

Thank you for your analysis,

I agree with you as you say, I hope that this will be the reason that prevented me from getting better acceleration, although I tried as much as possible to avoid wheelspin .

i can back this up as well. my truck feels no better at all. traction control off from a dead stop won't even chirp the tires. slightly disappointed. also i am getting st knock between 3.5 to 10 at times with the 91 octane tune. I even went as far to buy a custom tune and try it but still notice nothing. Only thing im loving is the mds disable and the ability to change shift points. I had a bullydog on my last ram and it was night and day was just hoping for the same results with the trinity.

My truck feels faster / more powerful in every situation with the 93 tune.
Much more wheel spin. I have 4:10 gears on the R/T & couldn't barely chirp the tires prior to the tune, now I can create a nice cloud of Smoke if I am willing. Throttle response is also much improved.
I reverted back to stock on a dealer visit a few days ago after driving with the tune for 2 months & I did feel a huge difference (it sucked).

I'm having the same issues with st knock. Mine got up to 14 degrees today on the way home. I'm running a basic 87 tune with 89oct with 1degree advanced for the tune to fuel difference. I have k&n CAI, magnaflow y pipe mod, spintech muffler with resonator delete, 180 thermostat. Truck has loads more power and runs like a raped ape. It scares me to see that much knock though. Going to try adding fuel tomorrow but I don't see that fixing 14 degrees of knock. Help please!!!

Unfortunately
last time I monitoring Knock I found strange numbers
ST = 6 and LT = 2 some times more
I switch to 91 tune, but I got the same result
I did not find such these numbers before .
