Data Viewer help

Ran a log file on my 08 K1500, connected the intune to the laptop (it's fully up to date). I tried to use the download icon from the data viewer menu and received the pop up "an invalid argument was encountered". I then saved the file to my hard drive and tried to open it but it is not recognized because it is not a .log file. what am I missing here?

logs live onthe intune drive in the logs folder, no interface software required...
