Trinity with Mac

Post by Leduchowski »

Just purchased a new Trinity programmer. I could have sworn there was a Mac OS picture on the package. Yet here I sit with a software disk that doesn't want to work on my Mac and nothing in the downloads section of your site for Mac.... We're not starting on a good foot here.

I purchased a Win 8 disk and a program called VMWare (Virtual Machine) at my local Best Buy for less than $100. It was a little more complicated than the Tech guy (Geek) @ BB said, but I was able to get it to work without issue. Once in Windows, the DS Trinity and download software all worked properly.
You prob did not want to hear that you need to invest another $100 on top of the Trinity, but I wanted to let you know it worked! (I knew in advance, that it was not Mac compatible. Not sure about any stickers on the box.)
Good luck!

We all know that TRINITY and MAC don't mix

For that you should have bought the InTune .

Pay attention next time before committing to a purchase before blaming the manufacturer for your mistake ;)

Useless post. Did you read the entire thread. This was all handled over a month ago.
BTW, my Mac and Trinity love each other! :normal:

Sooooooooo, there is really nothing to be done about this problem other than buying more software or a PC? I am sitting here with a paperweight instead of a tuner?

Just get a copy of windows, partition your hard drive (about 20 GB SHOULD DO) using bootcamp which is built into OSX under utilities and load up a copy of windows. Bootcamp will walk you through the process. Now you are running a windows/Mac system. When you want to load windows you just restart the Mac and when you here the chime hold the option button on the keyboard until you see the two drives come up (you should see two choices, a Mac HD and a Windows HD) choose the Win HD and log on. Download the installer and your on you way. Easy!

Don't partition your hard drive first, Bootcamp will ask you how large to make the partition and do the partitioning for you.
