Need advice Diabloites. 2007 SRT8 with a AFE Stage 2 and Predator. Did the changes suggested on the 300CForums for using E10 gas, and now I'm seeing KR in the 4-4.8K range.
Changes are as follows:
Fuel- 3% rich at all rpm
Spark- +2 for the 1-3.8K and 4-4.8k and +1 in the 5-7k
The KR is varying between 4.5-5.0 degrees at about 48-50% throttle and is only in that range. Do I add more gas, or cut the spark advance to eliminate it? I'm think that maybe I should cut the advance back a degree and see what happens, but I wanted to get some input before I do it.
Thoughts? I can upload a scan if you tell me exactly what to scan for.

RE: KR in the midrange
which knock retard are you looking at to determine this? i would just take out a degree and see if it helps or you can add 1% more fuel to see if it stops..
RE: KR in the midrange
When I run the diagnostics in the Predator, it brings up the Knock retard.

Re: KR in the midrange
First thing you need to do is get rid of the advance you dialed in.Mike_Levy wrote:Need advice Diabloites. 2007 SRT8 with a AFE Stage 2 and Predator. Did the changes suggested on the 300CForums for using E10 gas, and now I'm seeing KR in the 4-4.8K range.

I have seen this advice posted, but what works for one car may not work for another.
To properly dial in the tune, you need to log and determine your own changes, rather than what worked for someone else.

RE: Re: KR in the midrange
OKay, I'll give it a shot. I wanna upload R18 to the programmer (and download to the car) anyway.
Stupid question, what parameters should I be scanning. I've been scanning the same stuff I used to scan for with my GTP. I'm sure the parameters to watch for a supercharged V6 and N/A V8 must be different?
EDIT: R18 has been downloaded to the car and I pulled the timing in the 4-4.8k range. Left the advance for the rest because it seems to be working. Didn't touch the new MBT settings because I don't know what they do. I'll scan it tonight if you can tell me what to record.

RE: Re: KR in the midrange
Still trying to find out what parameters to record.
Better yet, is there a listing someplace of what each parameter means? I know what I want to record, but don't really know which parameter is the right one to do so.
Also, how come when I upload a scan into the DataViewer it doesn't bring up the same parameters I scanned, but instead, different, totally unrelated ones?
BTW: I pulled the advance in the 4-4.8K range and the KR appears to be gone.

RE: Re: KR in the midrange
This probably won't be much help, but here's the PID's my tuner said to record for any custom tune:
ACT-Air Charge Temp
ECT-Engine Coolant Temp
Open Loop FA-Desired Fuel/Air Ratio
RPM
MPH
PRATIO-No Idea
RAW TPS1-No Idea
ACTUAL SPARK CYL1
KNK TOTAL RETARD
The only way I got rid of my KR was to get a cmr tune. It really is money well spent, not to mention saving you time and aggravation. Let the pros handle it IMO.
With your other issue, are you saying that the recorded data is coming up different in the Dataviewer than what was originally recorded?

Thanks. That actually does help.Mullens wrote:This probably won't be much help, but here's the PID's my tuner said to record for any custom tune:

My problem with the Viewer is that the parameters that are recorded on the tuner, don't show up on the Viewer. That was with r17 though. I haven't gotten a chance to try and record with r18 yet.
RE: Re: RE: Re: KR in the midrange
Make sure you grab the latest version of the DataViewer, which I just posted yesterday.
