Need An Update?

Post by drizzamed »

I just got my DCX and went through the update process. I hooked it up to my Ram 1500 and it says it needs a calibration update. Well I thought I had the latest updates? I'm running:

Application: 1r03t
DCX Tune Db: 1r01j(*)
DCX PID Db: 1r01a(*)
FORD PID Db: 1r01b(*)
GM PID Db: 1r01a(ok)
DTC Db: 1r01a(*)
VIN Db: 1r01c(ok)
Info Db: 1r01b(*)

At this point what needs to be done?

Thanks in advance!

Nevermind... I plugged it back into my pc and ran the update and it said calibration downloaded. Didn't do that when I first plugged it in last night for the first time. Now going through registration, etc.

When I hear that a "calibration update" is in order - because "there is no way for anyone to know each and every calibration that exists in the field, thus we run into new 'unsupported' ones frequently, but we just make tunes for those new cals, release a new update, and everyone is good"

... well - cool ... but ... err what's being 'updated'?

Is it:
- the app (sw_rev) version
- the cal_id PCM
- the Mfg's db (in my case GM)
... or what?

I ask because I have noticed some file version changes when I do an auto-update and I want to be sure I have received (i.e., "politely waited for") the appropriate mods.

I was told that my calibration is unsupported and a change or mod will solve the problem - so I'd like to know what files need changing so I can watch for them (and if they don't fix the problem - I will then have a rational reason to contact Diablo tech support)

--------------------

Just for reference - the header off my info.xml file reads (I understand the the 1r0xx indicates version info):

<tool_info>
<main full_version='InTune-1r03t 12/24/2013 10:43:47 AM' sw_rev='1r03t' svn='6974'/>

<cal_id PCM='12605732, 12602949, 12602945, 12605252, 12602940, 12605201, 12601697, 12602932' CM1='24237276, 24237119, 24237116, 24237115'/>
<restore id='0' vin='1G1YY36U46511****' bc='1'/>
<system_db info='1r01b' dtc='1r01a' vin='1r01c'/>

Ok - thanks, but you are speaking "Diablo-ese"

I am looking for a file-name - so I can understand when a new "Tune Database" has been generated

May I therefore assume that the file that will be updated will be: GM tune=1r01w --> GM tune=1r01x for the next rev?

sorry to be a PITA ... just trying to make sure I understand your update system and labeling standards

- Thanks
