Rich idle w/ Comp 274 Tune.

Post by macedo6466 »

2014 Challenger RT
Installed Comp cam 274 with/ tune.
vehicle runs too rich and dies on idle.
Is there a way to lean out the fuel with the trinity so I can at least drive the
vehicle?

Nope. Any changes you make with the Trinity will be WOT only. Gonna have to have your tuner send you a new file.

Mike,

Apparently my tuner don't work on weekends.
Do you have any recommended tuners?

For Mopar I normally recommend Johan (Diablotoona). Johan did the base tune on my Jeep SRT8 with the Comp 268, and it was good enough to set the stock bottom end, naturally aspirated record at that time(11.91@115), so I'd probably recommend going with him. www.diablotoona.com

It was difficult to get a tune on Friday. I guess they have weekends off.
I did get a reply from TuningSuperStore.com so I should be getting a tune on Sunday.
Good deal. I'm crossing my fingers hopefully the car gets a better idle and performance.

thanks Mike.

Well, its 9pm and I have not received a tune from Tuning Superstore.com
I paid For the tune to be emailed by Sunday and nothing yet...
Not so reliable.

It looks like I spoke too soon. I got the tune around 9 pm.
Loaded the tune to my vehicle and unfortunately its still unresponsive at idle and lacks horsepower.

If I get my vehicle dyno tuned would this resolve the problem?

I just realized something....

I just want to clarify loading a tune to the Trinity.
When I load a new tune to the Trinity using DiabloSport Downloader I click on , "Send Tune File To Tool".
I choose my Custom tune file.

DiabloSport Downloader ask me for, "An original Backup is required to send this tune to the tool."

I click "Yes" and load the Original Factory backup.

Is this correct?
I just installed a Comp cam 274, would this be the problem that I cant drive my vehicle?
Should I load both custom tunes?

I learned that it's a nightmare when swapping a camshaft.
This is my third week receiving CMR Tunes and finally my car started to respond.
It's not finished yet... My vehicle needs more therapy CMR tunes.
Then I dyno tune it.
I don't think I would want to do this again. :D

I thought everything was set and done, not quite yet..

I've been getting a trouble code (POOOB) Unknown. I looked it up online and the problem is claimed to be
the camshaft position sensor. Possible faulty sensor, wrong oil, dirty sensor etc. How true is this?

I'm at fault.. The day the mechanics installed my camshaft I provided 5/W30 mobile one synthetic oil.
After this installation and oil change I started getting this check engine light.

I changed the oil back to 5/W20 Mobile one full synthetic and also reset the pcm and the code still comes back.

I was also told that the tuner must make changes to the CMR to allow the PCM to read the new installed Phaser Limiter.

Has anyone had any experience with this nightmare? lol

who did the tuning?
Were they familiar with these cars and these phase limiters?
