How To work the Adjustable Parameters

Post by r70chevy »

Is there any where on this site or on U-Tube that walks you thru each Adjustable parameter? A place that will show you the different screens explain the screens and then walk you thru each adjustment that can be made and how they affect the veh?
Also show what the log shows after the adjustments were made and how to "Fine Tune" your car.
When the log is going does it measure the Horse Power and Torque?

I have looked thru my tuner. I have 3 choices; modify stock tune, 87 octane tune and Diablo tune. I have installed the Diablo tune and the 87 octane tune, after each tune was successfully installed, neither gave the option to change rear-end gear ratios in the adjustable parameters. I then looked thru modify the stock tune, it also does not have a heading to change the rear-end gear ratio.

No need to change gear ratio. The ECU reads off of a tone ring in the rear. Only have to change for different sized tires.

After selecting any of the tunes you've listed, the device will ask if you want to install or modify that tune in particular.
At that point, select Modify, and in the full list of modifiable parameters, you will see your option for Axle ratio.
Set that value to the actual gear ratio installed in your vehicle's rear end and install the tune.
No, i don't work here.

ok, which is it?
I called 2 dealers, 1 independent shop, and 1 shop that does nothing but rebuild tranys and rearends, each one of them said I need to "update" the computer with the new gears
The page heading is gear ratios?

I have not seen it but I will look again

I'm not sure I understand your question. They are probably saying "update your computer with the new gears", but they are referring to using this device to change the gear ratio in the PCM to accommodate for the new gear ratio using the instructions I've laid out for you above.
No, i don't work here.

I walked thru the proceedure you stated, here is a list of the parameters that were offered:
Actual wheel Size, COT, Downshift MPH,Idle, Injection slope, Part Throttle Shift Pressure, Rev Limit, Shift Time, Speed Limit, Torque managment, Upshift MPH, upshift MPH vs TP, upshift RPM, WOT Fuel, WOT Shift Pressure, WOT Spark

that was it...
On another issue, I tried record a log to see what the motor was doing, and when I tried to play it back, it stated it was not supported

Please let me know how we can resolve this, One of the main reasons I bought this tuner was because it will allow the gear changes. I now have a tuner that will not do what I need it to do. Any way this can be updated?

Please let me know
