Torque Management still managing.
Torque Management still managing.
Hey Mike or whoever can respond to this. I have been using my Intune for a year now in my 2011 Dodge Charger RT MAX. What I wondering is why I still experience torque lockup even after having installed the 91 or 93 tune. It really only happens with moderate throttle input where as second gear feels like it has two gears. It will drop rpms from 2300 to 1700. I talked to Dodge and other and this is normal for the RTs. However, part of the reason I bought this tuner in the first place was to eliminate torque management. Seems like torque converter lockup was missed in the Diablo programming on the intune. Any chance we will see this soon. The SRt8 do not have this issue as Chrysler did not build it into there programing.

Re: Torque Management still managing.
are you referring to the lockup of the torque converter at cruise/light throttle?

No. Im talking about how the drop in rpms from 2300 to 1700 in second gear happens under moderate throttle. Under light throttle she will just shift at 2k to the next gear. This also happens in other gears but is not as noticeable. Again, as I talked with the techs at my local Dodge dealer they referred to it as the torque converter locking up to save on fuel. Dropping the rpms in that gear with torque lockup. This is unique to the 5.7ls in the RTs. Kinda like the old Pontiac grand prix did but they did it mostly in 5th gear. I just thought the tuner was able to tune this out of the programming since it suppose to get rid of torque management.

so, you say no, then you say its exactly what I said...
regardless, we have no way to adjust the converter settings, as thats in the TCM.
Look into an MTCT, it changes lockup settings.

I meant no to the cruise/ light throttle comment in your first post. There was no mention of moderate throttle. What is a MTCT?mikel wrote:so, you say no, then you say its exactly what I said...

Realistically removing the lockup feature on a modern car is total tranmission failure (melt down) waiting to happen
