Diablosport chip......

I've got a 2003 Mustang Gt and it has a chip in it. I wasn't aware the car was chipped and hooked up my friends Superchips programmer to it to upload the tune. Both times it said error and it said not accepted.

I mentioned my car had many things done to it before I bought it, and maybe it already had a chip. So when we checked, there was a diablosport chip in it.

Now problem is, the service engine light has come on. It's never been on before. Can the chip be damaged from trying to upload another tune?

Or could it be I disconnected the fuel shutoff switch before using the programmer and the car just defaulted a CEL from disconnecting the fuel shutoff switch?

Well, what is the code?
How does the car run now with the chip?
It is possible that the chip got damaged, but you would be able to tell based on how the car runs.

I just went to auto zone and it threw 2 codes.

P1639 & P1233

He cleared the CEL and it came back on in less than 2 minutes.

Yup, sounds like the chip got whacked.
Get it to a CMR dealer for a reflash.
