2010 Charger 5.7L with CAM and BBK

Post by wes1600 »

OS 68052005AD

I have a very intermittent stalling with a BBK throttle body and very mild camshaft.
Driveability is good, Fuel trims are good, power is good -- will intermittently stall after a full stop with
no codes. The one time it actually DID set a code, P2135 was set. All problems apparently started with this TB install, as
I'm helping another shop out with it.

I can drive it up to a half hour with no issues at all--which really makes this fun. Drove it around this morning with
no problems--and then restarted it this afternoon and it stalled within 5 minutes of driving again.

If anyone else has been there, I'd love to hear your input.

Current tune attached...maybe you can see where I've messed up.

Take off the TB. It does nothing anyway (I proved that on the dyno with my 6.1LJeep), so whats the point of having it on there if its causing problems?
The stock 80mm TB flows enough cfm for a 7.0L motor at 7000rpm naturally aspirated. Unless the motor has forced induction flowing through it, changing the TB on a Hemi is a waste of money. You'll feel a slight increase in throttle response initially, then once the motor learns its there, the response goes away and you got a whole lotta nothing for that $500 layout........ if you're lucky. We measured a slight loss on the Jeep with a 90mm Arrington.

Hey...I'm not disputing the loss in HP with a larger TB. Not my choice....I'll see if I can get the stock TB back.

Thx.

I'd agree, bigger issue is the brand, I see them causing issues on GM, Ford and DCX applications, rarely worth the time it takes to bolt them on ;)

Yes...did a little browsing last night on that very issue, and it seems to be a big problem.
Thx, Mike.
