2014 5.3 chevy

Post by Egoresb »

Has a fix been released for the 2014 GM trucks 5.3L with 6 speed tranny regarding the banging shifts at WOT yet? Haven't seen anything on it in a while. Or is it still under investigation?

Would really like to use my in tune again without fear of my transmission falling out from under me.

Is there anything I can do on my end to get this resolved? I've tried the back and forth emailed tunes to try and clear it up. Maybe a video or are there any other parameters that I can log to see what's happening?

I've already ruled out axle wrap with a go pro under the truck and I even borrowed adjustable traction bars. The bang feels similar to that happening. Like the springs would be loading up while power is being applied and unloading as the power band drops(as soon as it shifts) giving it the bang feeling.

The only other option would be to take my truck to y'all and have someone physically put it through the paces. It wouldn't be hard to duplicate as it happens at every shift point during wide open throttle in all conditions(weather temp outside and hot/cold tranny temps)

The truck is 100% stock. Factory tires no lift. The only thing done to the truck was a k&n drop in replacement filter that probably needs to be cleaned by now. Also the tune I have been trying to run is the 89 octane tune +15% throttle boost and no changes in the tcm tune. Although it does seem to replace the factory tcm tune with what I'd assume to be a modified factory tune to correlate with the pcm tune.

Or is it possible that my pcm/tcm may need a dealer software update to correspond with the current tune changes?

Ok I will do that as soon as I get home tonight. You should see it up Monday I would assume. Truck hasn't been to the dealer in about a year or so after my 24k tune up/oil change warranty ran out. I've been doing all the maintenance myself.

If that were the case hoe would I go about getting the stealer ship to update the software?

went ahead and updated the tool again. reinstalled to truck just to see if something was tweaked and possible fix. with no luck. I also tried firm shift also didn't help. I have all tunes listed along with info file and a datalog I made. hope this helps resolve the issue.
