U7140 help please...

Post by Chrispmtz »

Hi I'm looking for help with my predator for 05 Mustang Gt U7140. . the problem I'm having is I received a error stated application was missing or corrupt . downloaded online crom file. It works now but says cannot install tune due to the backup not matching the vehicle.. I was unable to reinstall the original backup due to the device application failing. Can I just reinstall the original backup or will it cause a no start. .the version is V.09.9 any help would be very appreciated

updating a married tool is a bad idea, what crom was it on before you updated it?

I believe it was the same one the problem I had was I put the 91, 90mm cai frp tune in my car last. Went to install the 91 steeda tune and it wouldn't even go to the menu went straight to the error code of the application was missing or corrupt, but now it's showing the steeda tune on last tune written n not the 90mm cai frp1. I've had this tuner for 2+ years now without any other problems

if it was the same crom the tool would be working properly generally, without knowing for sure what was there before this happened it may be tough to get around and you may need to have the vehicle flashed by a dealer to get it back to stock.

I'm pretty sure it was 9.09. If I was to install original backup to stock then try to re- install the tune could it possibly work? If not then I'd rather be safe refresh my car and send tuner in to get reset or unmarried whatever I would have to do. . thanks for all your help. .

You should be OK restoring it, but I am not 100% sure, and would personally avoid it if possible.

I agree. Thanks for the advice ,the sad part is I also needed a custom tune for the longtube headers and O/R X pipe I just put. 02's have been acting crazy. Well if it does work I'll let you know in case come across another similar incident.
