2006 Chevrolet/GMC 5.3L LIFT settings? Same as my GXP 5.3L?
Ok seems like an easy answer would be yes they are both 5.3's but I have been told different. Should the truck 5.3 be set the same as Lew has writen up on this forum for the LS4 5.3L? Get LIFT to 0 - -2 12.5-13.0 AFR @ WOT?

dude.. like I've been tellin ya on IM's... NOOOOOO...
they are different engines, even though they are both 5.3's...
and besides, you have that funky air box setup on the GXP.. so the amount of air the GXP is getting is gonna be different than the truck.. even if you did the same thing to the truck...
you can have 2 of the same vehicles, same year, same engines... they're gonna run differently... and require different adjustments...
as I mentioned... you need to view the real time data and check out BOTH ltft banks - cuz the truck has two of them, whereas our cars only have one...
long term fuel trim bank 1 and long term fuel trim bank 2...
you have 2 cats, which means you have 4 O2 sensors, which means you have 2 banks
and will need to base the adjustments off of both of those averages... and they usually won't be the same...
so that's why we need to see both...
our cars only have 1... but the truck has 2... cuz our cars, being FWD, have the manifolds from both sides just dump into 1 single downpipe... but the truck has them down on both sides, so they run 2 pipes...

RE: 2006 Chevrolet/GMC 5.3L LIFT settings? Same as my GXP 5.
and yet that helps me how? I learned how to monitor this stuff by reading your write up on the LS4. Also YES you did tell me it has both banks unlike our "cars"... I need to know what the #'s need to be. And BTW I have the same "Funky" airbox mod, exhaust on the truck...?? Hense my reason for this topic, not see how many banks to monitor nor witch ones, I read what you told me in the "IM's" and made note of that. Could someone please just answer the simple question "Do we set the LIFT's to 0 - -2 and are we looking for AFR of 12.5 - 13 @ WOT on the truck 5.3L Gas engine?"
Thanks.
Thanks.

you won't know what the numbers will need to be until you view some real time data with your predator... while you can't save logs with your truck predator, you can still view them live on the screen as you're driving... have someone ride with ya if you can and wrote down the ltft numbers for both banks...
keep a steady cruise, with at least 22% throttle position, and your rpms between 2000 and 2500 rpms... I find this to be done easilyb by goin on an uphill road.. that way you can maintain the rpms and throttle position, without having to worry about getting up to 100mph!!
also, here's some info from Wiki about the truck engine... which is also a Vortec engine and not an LS4 at all.... only the displacement is the same...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Vortec_engine#5300
actually good info there, learned some stuff myself...

YES YES YES.
SAME SHIT, JUST DIFFERENT SETUPS!!! just set them as you did in your car, via the real time data. you are looking for the SAME setpoints in both....as well as any gen iii n/a smallblock. ltft's at 0 to -2, A/FR at 12.6-12.8....... although your diablo for the trcuk may not read out in A/FR...it may just read o2 millivolts... either way, follow Lew's stick just as you did with fine tuning the car, and you will be good to go.
then drink a beer, and calm down. damn

Yeah find a "Hill" near Houston... LOL!! seems it must be really close to the same since this guy that wrote the DSLogRedux program has an 07 GM Truck with a 5.3L gas engine and wrote this. (that I sent you in an IM....)
I have the 5.3, not the 6.2 (07 Sierra).
Run the 93 Octane tune, thusfar, that's about it.
LTFTs out of the box were in the -0.8% range (!)
WOT AFR was 12.00 (!)
Doesn't get much better than that. Credit to Diablosport on that one.

A/FR of 12.00 at WOT is a little rich....... may want to adjust that.

oh yeah, forgot your in houston TX LOL
yeah, Frank lives in Ohio, so your stuff will be different due to elevation, climate, etc etc etc...
Like SickRED said, you still want to shoot for the same numbers as we did with your GXP - LTFT's get dialed in so that they're between 0 and -2...
maybe those were the settings/numbers you were asking about and I got confused????
if they were, sorry man
