Want harder shifting!!

Post by franco802 »

I just got my new predator u7193 and I love it. I have a 2004 Silverado excab shortbed, 4x2, 4.8 auto with 3.73's. I removed tm and raised line pressure to 15% on the 1-2, 10% on 2-3 and 5% on the 3-4. I set the shift time at -25 on the 1-2 and -20 on the 2-3. It shifts harder but not a neck snapping shift like an old muscle car. I want to bark these tires on the 1-2 shift!! I have 265/75/16 tires.

Just got back from another run. This time I set everything back to zero, removed all three options for the TM. I did increase the upshift speed to 10% on the 1-2 and 2-3. Truck shifts fine, but no jerking or neck braking shifts. I am thinking I just don't have an agessive truck.

Start by taking the first two settings of TM off, and leaving the third <upshift torque reduction> turned on. That is what i read in a few other topics about this... Hope it works.

Worked on my 06 GMC 1500, wife drives it and came home Pissed! Had to untune it... Really no reason for that break neck shifting, hard on the driveline and all... Just make a nice quick firm shift, thats what ya need.

Hell sometimes a stock GTO will walk sideways on the 1-2 shift. I see where you're coming from on this one now. :D

i wouldnt do it that way, i would just go with a shift kit and be safer.

use this link, you have a 4l60e.... and this shift kit along with a corvette servo or billet servo will do exactly what you need. turning up line pressure isnt a great idea with this tranny.....shift kit + servo is around $160....and it supposedly will make your tranny a bit beefier.
