Intune I1000 freezing when trying to connect to truck

Post by Mak25 »

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado 5.3L. I have used this tuner a few times on the truck to install one of the canned tunes with some additional mods and put back to stock with no problems. I recently updated the programmer to the new DiabloSport I2 updater and this seems to be when the problems started. I had to update a few times before it took, as I was getting errors. Its showing no updates now, so im assuming the update worked. Im on Windows 10 btw.

So to the problem, I loaded the 87 canned tune with some additional mods on my truck and it loaded but said "loaded with some errors" and then was loading the error log but then froze. The 87 tune, DOD disable, and I think the tire size mod took but looks like it failed when trying to install the tranny firm shift mod. Now everytime I try to connect the unit to my truck, it just freezes on the little dial screen. I cant get anywhere with the unit when plugged in, cant even use scan tool. It wont recognize or connect to the truck like before. I can look in the programmer and see that it is married to truck but I cant do anything with it. Ive tried to contact DiabloSport tech support online and it keeps giving me errors when trying to send. Ive called as well, but havent gotten through. This is getting frustrating.

Can anyone here help?

Thx

There is a guy named Mikel on here who seems to be able to help. Hopefully he can chime in soon and assist us with our issue. It does seem like a lot of other people are having similiar issues. I didnt have any issues until I updated the unit last, now the I2 updater window shows. Maybe something to do with the latest update.

@Mikel, So the unit is recognizing the truck now. But the issue I'm having now is the truck has a tune loaded on the ECM and I cant restore cause its not finding the original backup. And I cant load a canned tune cause the unit is recognizing that the ECM already has a tune loaded. What should I do now? I have the ECM & TCM backups saved on my PC. I uploaded them to this post also. Should I copy them into the tunes folder and force original backup? The unit is showing Licensed 0/1 now.

There was only 1 file in the tunes folder. Here it is, Its the ECM one. Originally I had 2 files, the ECM & TCM backup files which I posted on this post previously. Is that gonna be an issue?

save this to the intune drive, let the tool import it then go to the vehicle and click tune vehicle/write vehicle and let it load this update then you can reload the tunes.
It may ask you to do the same for the tcm, let me know if so.

Thanks, that worked. It did not ask me about the TCM part. I am able to connect the unit and tune, restore, scan, etc again. Do you have any idea what caused this issue with my unit? The update to the I2 updater maybe? Im a little worried about updating the unit now.
