Tune E85 flex fuel with 2014 Silverado 6.2L

Post by dpb119 »

I have been trying to find details on running E85 in the 6.2L Silverado. Here is where I am at:

1. I purchased the module. Installed it into the fuel line and plugged in. I did not go the "save money" route and bought a kit with fittings and cable plug extension. It took between 1/2 to 1 hour for installation. The trucks harness plug is just in front of the frame cross member below the rear door on my double cab. It is clamped to the frame. Simple installation.

2. I was unable to find solid information if the fuel will run without a tune; if a tune is truly needed; what parameters need changed, etc... I let the tank go down to about 2 gal and stopped at the E85 station. I pumped 3 gallons in and it ran fine. Filled the tank halfway and it ran fine, so I filled iit up and hit the road. I noticed a slight increase in low end and lost upper RPM power. After about 20 miles, my check engine light came on and I checked the codes. Looks like it is running lean, which is par with what I have read. This is where my question is:

A. I read that there is an off/on parameter for the module to start monitoring the fuel, but there was no details. Is this true and can the I2 do it? I know I can adjust the Air/fuel ratio, but I do not want to be modifying parameters every time I switch fuel.

B. :? What are my options?

simply wiring the sensor up does not allow it to work, you need to be able the sensor in the PCM, Im nit sure if thats mapped out or not, please post the files from the tunes folder on the i2 drive so I can check it out.
