What I have been told we will not get tcm tuning for the 8speed anytime soon as gm has put heavy encryption on the 8speed tcm for the 2017 models. Ecm tuning could be released any day now. It went out on the super chips line over a week ago.

Was told that tuning would be available today when I purchased my tuner last week. Is it really looking close? I need to calibrate for gear change on my 2017 Chevy Silverado 6.2. Will I be notified when tune becomes available?

I was told by the sales person. I have called several times to inquire about a tuner for the 2017 Silverado 6.2 8speed and always told that it would be ready in a couple of weeks, please call back. Then last week I called and asked about how long it would be because I wanted to take advantage of the sale price if possible. The sales person said that it was a couple days out and would probably be ready on Monday so I went ahead and ordered. Then a couple days later I see that you extended your sale price. I would just like an honest estimate about how long it will most likely take. I have a new gear set ready to install, but want to download the stock tune before I change gears. Thanks for any info you can provide regarding an honest estimate.

If the trucks trannys are like my Z06 Corvettes 8 speed then tranny tuning isn't needed as long as stock shift rpm is satisfactory. My tranny shifts like lightning right from the factory. Just need engine tuning badly!

The tcm tuning on the 8 speed is completely different for a ZO6 corvette vs. a 6000 LB truck. the factory programing is awful on the trucks unless you are wot all the time. Daily driving it is constantly hunting gears.

Still wondering what a likely release date will be. I know you are busy but you must have an idea based on your experience.

Mine does a lot of shifting back and forth with varying speed. I have multiple setting that at least two change shift speed. Do the trucks have multiple settings?

In any case I'm very happy with the factory tranny tune. Just need a way to turn the fan on so the engine keeps cooler. The ECM starts pulling timing at 194*. And to keep it below that you have to be moving and not to warm ambient. It will probably be a real dog when summer gets here.

You might try finding you a 180 degree thermostat and adjust the fans along with that. I do not think just adjusting the fans alone will fix your temp problem.

A 180* tstat will do nothing to help in the staging lanes until I get Diablo tuning so the fan comes on sooner. Without air coming across the radiator a lower tstat will not keep the engine from getting up to the temp where the fan is programmed to turn on. I'm not sure how much the fan will help but having air pass the heat exchanger and radiator should lower temps quite a lot. I was seeing 151* in my heat exchanger in the staging lanes. When I had my CTS-V with the fan on I could bring that temperature down to less than 120*. My Z06 starts pulling timing at 133* intake manifold and of course 194* engine temp. On the street with hx temps less than 133* I see 21-22* of advance. At the track I saw 17*.

I think they must be having trouble figuring out how to add support the 2017s.
