Is update needed?

I just purchased the Predator Diablo Sport U7165. Do I need to down load updates to get better performance and less fuel consumption? I installed this on a 2006 Ford f350 4x4 King Ranch.

There should be no need to update the tool if it is already installed on the vehicle.
If the tool does not allow you to install the tune, then it will need to be updated.
The latest revision is 8r14 and you would see this when you power up the tool, once the main menu appears, at the top it will read 'Predator version XrXX'
Any revision earlier than 8r14 should be updated.
