Very similar, i2 will continue to get updates as needed for a year.

I just bought the i2 last year, are you saying it's only good for another year then no more updates ?

Hope that isn't the case. Looking at the i3 I fail to see any differences that would justify upgrading form an i2 to an i3.. Maybe it's a bit quicker and has a nicer screen.. but for the once or twice a year it gets powered on to update a tune, it's not something that I would want to replace every couple of years. My old predator was supported for a long time..

yes.. new orders will be for the intune i3..

and yes, the intune i2 is at "end of life" at the end of this month, September 2017... it's all done.. any new functionality, vehicle support, etc will only be done and added for the inTune i3...

Well, guess you lost a customer. Not going to pay $400 every couple years for a tuner that sits in my glove box most of the time . :x What a rip off !

Is there a trade in/credit to go from a I2 to an I3? I just got an I2 about 3 months ago.

I just purchase my i2 about a month ago from a Dodge dealer that sells them. It would have been nice if they would have let me know a new version was coming out and that the i2 would only receive updates for the next year. I also didn't see anything on the Diablosport website at the time of research that there was even going to be a i3 coming out to replace the i2.

why would you assume that?

i2 will continue to get updated regularly for at least a year, and by that time the OEMs are generally done coming up with new calibrations for these vehicles. I still have 1000s of customers using the old i1000, which we haven't offered updates for in some time, but we still support it if needed and fix them if required...its not like we just said 'if you have an i2 you are out in the cold', not at all.

theres literally no reason to do this. Both devices run the same tune databases, the i3 was a new case and skus for 50 state legal coverage. Your i2 is fine and will work for years to come ;)

Thanks for answering my question. I was worried the invoice said i2 and I would get an i2. Glad i3 are being shipped instead! :D Thanks Mikel for answering my question quickly after hours.

I think maybe there was some confusion as to what 'end-of-life' entails. I work in IT and deal with EOL issues and repurchasing of hardware because of it constantly. sometimes the only difference between one model and the next is a different colour bezel (thanks cisco..)..

From what I can tell, there is not a *LOT* of difference between the I2 and I3.. so I am glad to hear that you guys aren't forcing upgrades... even if the I2 is older with a slower processor, it doesn't need much for tuning..

The predator for my old 08 Daytona still works fine.. and I also had that when I had my 05 Magnum.. so that's a good 12 years or so..

Diablosport has been good about support of their hardware..
